Can you tell me an online booking site other than Travelocity?

Posted by admin on December 30th, 2009 and filed under booking | No Comments »

I tried to book online, but a trip to St. Louis from Portland, Oregon is 837 dollars at Travelocity. Are there any other reliable online booking services? This is a round trip. Because of health pain, it is better I travel by plane instead of drive.

You neglected to say when you want to travel. This can make a huge difference. I don’t use online services, I go to yahoo travel and enter my info and pick my flight from the many choices offered. I then book it directly from the airline. For example American will take you there and back on a 1-stop for about $250.00 on April 21st.

The best way to pay a deposit for a reservation?

Posted by admin on December 30th, 2009 and filed under reservation | 5 Comments »

I need to pay a deposit to confirm a reservation in an Icelandic youth hostel. Paying by bank transfer from my bank costs more than the cost of the accommodation!

I am afraid a credit card number could get read by someone else if I send it by email.

Western Union is quite expensive, too.

Do you think they would accept me sending a normal banking account check in US dollars by snail mail?

Actually, phone calling cards, especially international ones, are available almost anywhere now a days….I agree about calling and taking care of it over the phone…Icelandic youth hostel, hmmm….Cue scary music….lol.

What is the difference between hotels and motels?

Posted by admin on December 30th, 2009 and filed under motels | 20 Comments »

I have been wondering about this for a while.
Are there any differences or are they simply the names that they choose?

    Thanks!

A motel is the combination of motor and hotel and implies its proximity to roadways. Motels are limited in the facilities that they provide (they are not allowed to have a restaurant in most place), and they target people who drive by and need short term accommodations. Hotels are multifunctional, target guests who use more than one mode of transportation, and are more flexible in the duration of a stay. Hope this helps!

is there any dog breeding facilities in costa rica?

Posted by admin on December 30th, 2009 and filed under facilities | 2 Comments »

I own two male dogs…A white lab and a miniature pinscher. Both id like to breed but do not know of any facilities. Do you know of any in Costa Rica?

Sigh…please have your dogs neutered. We have too many homeless dogs being killed. How many dogs have to die for people stop breeding, is hundreds pts each week not enough!!

How can I find which company my house is insured under?

Posted by admin on December 30th, 2009 and filed under house | 2 Comments »

My husband recently passed away ans he was the one who took care of a lot of the financial responsiblities. He never mentioned what company our house is insured under. Is there a way to find out?

I looked throughout the house and couldnt find the papers concerning house insurance. Plus, I know we had the basement of the house insured since we had a small commercial business running. But still I can’t seem to find who insured the commercial part of the house either.

A few months before he passed he changed insurance company. But he never even got a chance to tell what company it was since he died abruptly.

What can I do? I already went to the company we dealt with in the past., they are not the one who are currently insuring us.

    Please help!
    the house not longer mortgaged.

Are there companies that specialize in searching this type of information?

Is your home still mortgaged? If so, your mortgage company would know since it is mandatory to have the home insured if you want to have a mortgage with them.
