  • When will an airline pay for overnight hotel accomodations?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under accomodations | 3 Comments »

So my flight was just cancelled cause some idiot caterer accidently set-off the inflatable emergency slide right as the plane was getting ready to depart from the gate.

The flight was cancelled and we were forced to book a flight on the following day. The airline would not pay for the hotel rooms. All we got was a stinking $10 voucher for food.
Even though it was the caterer, in my opinion, the airline should pay for our rooms and seek reimbursement from the catering company.

Agree, i know for sure that they give you hotel accommodations when it is something mechanical and no hotel if its on weather. I’m not sure about policy for ground damage, but i agree with you thats messed up

The only time they’ll pay for accommodations is if they are DIRECTLY responsible (example: the flight crew leaves the plane on a connecting flight and they can’t get replacement members for several hours).

They may give you a voucher if you raise a big enough stink, but don’t bet on it.
