      What charge was actually brought against you?

      @courtneyxx89 …
      @courtneyxx89 seriously you’ve got big brass ones. You’re welcome at the family table anytime you are in Massachusetts.

      @immortalxfrog Also …
      @immortalxfrog Also I do agree we live in a better world, but it’s only because people chose to use the rights they were given. We as Americans and Canadians and British have been very remiss as of late in our responsibilities as citizens and we need to start acting like the role models we can be instead of being too afraid of consequences to act. If you scroll up I know the police have a tough job, but they are doing it poorly right now. There’s a right way to diffuse a situation this isn’t it

    4. avengingwatcher Says:

      @immortalxfrog the …
      @immortalxfrog the difference is only what is accepted as normal today. We accept racism as wrong today because we are getting past it as an issue. We are moving into an area where economic justice is becoming the issue of culture yet again. As a culture though we are at a point where we either progress or don’t. the fact of the matter is that this is the ONLY way for someone to protest nowadays. The only other option is to backslide to a time where violence was accepted.

    5. immortalxfrog Says:

      @courtneyxx89 Then …
      @courtneyxx89 Then I owe you an apology, the video made it seem like you were arrested for something you apparently (as you said) hadn’t done.
      My apologies.

    6. courtneyxx89 Says:

      @immortalxfrog no, …
      @immortalxfrog no, if you read my earlier comments, i did not continue blowing the bubbles. i complied with the officer’s order, and put them away. my arrest had nothing to do with blowing bubbles. i was arrest along with a group of about 20 people who were just standing around. we were surrounded on all sides, never given a chance to leave, and were arrested.

      @avengingwatcher …
      @avengingwatcher Well I think i speak for all of us when I say that we live in a better world now than we did in the 60′s and such. If a police officer is going to arrest you for doing something, don’t do it! I admit that this was a stupid reason to arrest someone; but the girl in the video isn’t going to do any hard time at all, maybe pay a small fine. The girl could’ve easily avoided her arrest if she didn’t blow bubbles at Officer Hardass.

      Different story if this was about racism.

      @NicosNicosNicosNicos yes, surveillance, but they also have the copyright issues and the bad issue of thrown photogs down flights of stairs all in the name of keeping you safe. I do live in a nanny state and it’s turning me less liberal by the day.

      of course. didn’t you people know about the “don’t throw bubbles at a policeman” law?

    15. avengingwatcher Says:

      @bill03948 I …
      @bill03948 I sympathize with the fact that the police have a difficult job, but in this instance they have continually escalated situations, have attacked people who were literally walking to work, have beaten people and injured people who were sitting down. The police force has also been discovered inciting violence through undercover operatives. The whole ordeal has been mishandled and the officers who are out of line need to be reprimanded not given more authority.

    16. NicosNicosNicosNicos Says:

      @avengingwatcher …
      @avengingwatcher That is the exactly right idea. I think you mean “surveillance state” for Britain though. “Nanny State” is what the Conservative Party complains about wiki: “used in reference to state protectionism, economic interventionism, or regulatory policies (of economic, social or other nature)”

    17. avengingwatcher Says:

      @immortalxfrog yeah …
      @immortalxfrog yeah, those colonists should have just done what the king said, ya gotta do what you gotta do. Dr. Martin Luther King should have not been marching because you gotta do what the police tell you. Nelson Mandela should have just accepted apartheid….I think you get my point. When people start accepting the erosion of their civil rights you get nanny states like Britain watching everything you do, you get American corporations pushing their wills on the entire world.
