  • What happens during the booking process at a jail?

Posted by admin on October 6th, 2009 and filed under booking | 3 Comments »

As I wrote in a previous question, I am a 28 year old male and have to report to jail for a six month sentence. I’m wondering what to expect during booking and processing after I self-report. A friend told me that I’ll have to strip, shower and have my hair cut. Is this accurate?

not totally accurate. They are gonna make you strip and search you, they will give you something new to wear and shoes, they will probably finger print you again and give you an ID bracelet or card. You are probably gonna sit in a holding cell for a while till they put you in a cell. I’m not sure if they will make you shower, but no they won’t cut your hair. Good luck, I hope your 6 months fly by.

i kno that the stripping and shower thing is what they do.. they give you something to wash with… i think it gets rid of any like STD’s or whatever.. for example, crabs, etc. im not sure about the hair cutting thing.
