  • Are there any old motels like one story in Orlando or Kissimmee?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under motels | 2 Comments »

I am in search of an old motel that is like one story tall. Sort of like the Bates motel was in the movie Physco. I am currently scouting for a location in this area. Anyone know of any?

There are plenty of motels at the intersection of 535 and 192 in Kissimmee. I don’t recall the names but I know theres like 3 in a row. Theres also a ton down 192, but I’m not sure if any of them are one story or not. sorry!

What are the best motels to stay in on route from NY to LA?

I am planning a cross country trip from New York to Los Angeles and wondered where the best motels, cheap hotels, scenic routes and even best places to visit are? Thanks.

TripAdvisor.com has lists of hotels along with comments from past guests.

You can get route info from AAA if you’re a member, and if you’re planning a cross-country drive it would be a good idea to join.

Places to visit are detailed in guidebooks such as Frommer’s, Fodor’s, Lonely Planet, etc, either printed or on line. Or at websites for the cities you plan to visit.

How would I go about finding any hotels/motels that charge rates by the hour?

Posted by admin on February 13th, 2010 and filed under motels | 1 Comment »

I’m planning a long road trip…I wanted to make some short rest stops, without spending the night. Therefore paying for a full night is pointless. It’ll be through the Northeast and New England if it makes a difference

    by doing it online.

i need to find a motel like RIGHT next to the beach
what website would i go to?

Check the link below…Also, Sidestep.com is a great search site also once you know which hotel you want. Call and ask is it on the Gulf side or Soundside. A room with a balcony on at least the third floor or higher is preferred. Paradise Inn is great for larger groups of people but is older and more laid back than chains. No balconies there and on the Soundside.

How do I find independantly owned hotel/motels in LA area?

Posted by admin on February 4th, 2010 and filed under motels | 2 Comments »

Hey, I am looking for an independant motel in the LA or Anaheim area but everytime I search online I find links to all the big chains. I want something cheaper. There have to be independantly owned properties out there right?

I’ve never heard of an independently owned Hotel, unless it’s something huge, like the Chateau Monmont, or something.

There are plenty of mom and pop Motel, but they will be exactly like you imagine them to be–no tell motels in not such nice parts of town. Although you may have better luck in Anaheim near Disneyland.

You probably will not be able to do much better than the motel chains, like Motel 6. Check with them directly to see if they have any discounts, like AAA, corporate, etc. Remember, you’re not going to be in the room except to sleep. A motel is more than enough for your purposes.

Also consider getting a room with kitchenette. If you can make most of your meals "at home" you can save a bundle on food.

The only thing a little cheaper would be a hotel or the Y. But the few dollars saved may not make up for the inconvenience.
