  • What is a good Hostel in London, if I am flying in to LHR airport?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under hostel | 3 Comments »

I am planning to travel to London in May and stay for 5 nights. What is a good hostel that has a good location in London? I really don’t know what there is to do and see in London, so I just want a nice hostel that is really cheap and located conveniently to public transportation and LHR.

Great hostel, with a very good cleanliness. Great value for the money. Though I would recommend this hostel for those who are only there for doing the tourist stuff. Great security and quite quick to get to.

The hostel was in a good location, a very short walk from the tube. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and full of suggestions. All in all it made it a nice place to be, even though we were only there for the one night.

Are you on your own or with friends? I would feel safer if you said you were with friends because hostels can be fun but you are also at risk given that you share rooms with other people and your personal belongings are open to theft.

I would rather stay in a horrible hotel miles away from the city centre than in a hostel personally but if you’re very young and a backpacker then you may enjoy the rough and readiness of the experience.

Google London hostels and tons come up. I often see a lot of girls coming out of the one at Piccadilly Circus as this seems to be a very popular one.

LHR is not in London itself. You will need to travel on the tube (cheaper than the Heathrow Express) Piccadilly Line. This will take you into Piccadilly Circus (or any other station on the Piccadilly line).

It would be cheaper for you to have an Oyster card so you don’t pay so much on travel fares. You can buy these online (google oyster tfl) or from any tube ticket office.
