they need to come … they need to come up with better text communication. I only wanna make noises that don’t translate when i listen to this…you can’t even sigh in text, it’s really hard to get even a ‘voice’ to come through…shitty old communication. Good thing music and then video and sound capture have come around or my brain would be filled with some dumb plain words and math
I love how great … I love how great music gets passed down to new generations; one influence merges with others and becomes something completely different in that artist’s mind. It’s a beautiful cycle, and innovation transforms something like Son House’s music whilst keeping it alive, and all these years later the essence of it can still be seen in the music of today. Great music encompasses the past and looks to the future, stretching forwards forever. I could probably have put that better but I’m a bit drunk lol
@charlesdespres … @charlesdespres thats a very fair answer, but to be truthful, i dont have any goals, not even for people to like anything i play, i just never see myself stop playing but just to see where life takes me and i hope blues and music is a part of it
@ryandude1994 I was … @ryandude1994 I was exactly like you many years ago, and I can tell you that if you want it badly enough and keep practicing you will be able to reach your goal. But trying to reach goals is a never ending game, making music a lifelong quest. That’s what keeps it interesting, and that’s also what keeps sane people humble.
it should be noted … it should be noted that thanks are due to alan (blind owl) wilson, blues scholar, for helping son house remember how to play his songs in his old age, beset by alzheimers and parkinsons. wilson probably made this performance possible. his guitar (especially slide) and harmonica playing with canned heat are pretty powerful stuff.
@charlesdespres I … @charlesdespres I just read your comment and sadly us youngsters are listening to terrible music, im 15 and i’ve been playing guitar for 2 years, self taught and im pretty good and theres nothing i would love more than to be able to sing the blues whilst playing, blues is my favourite music, from junior kimborough to sun house, muddy waters etc, i cant get enough of this hypnotic music
Brutal. Can you … Brutal. Can you get any heavier with only one guitar? Put on any Led Zeppelin album and tell me the echoes of this music don’t run through Jimmy Page’s guitar amp.

@charlesdespres … @charlesdespres this music means a lot to me, my fave of all time is the great freddie king who i got to hear live once, got about 100 f king recordings . its just that its a million miles from popular music of today and i dont knock that either.
The Blues isn’t … The Blues isn’t just for scholars. I can understand that youngsters may not get into it. But this music might mean something to you one day. Just like “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” by Rev. Gary Davis. It’s not just about cotton picking and stuff. It’s about the human experience and emotions.
