“BEAUTIFUL MOUNT … “BEAUTIFUL MOUNT AIRY…Casino & Resort…” Yeah, that’s the ad I saw while I was down in Trenton last week (on the Philly networks–WPVI-6 ABC, actually). It was kinda funny hearing them say “Casino & Resort” at the end of it. Considering I grew up in BK listening to “BEAUTIFUL MOUNT AIRY LODGE!” I remember seeing the old ad on our B&W set some 20+ years ago…hell, I can still see it! Just like yesterday… BTW, I still think that figure skater @ 0:13 looks yummy! Anybody know her?
Yes they do use … Yes they do use part of the melody for the current spots. It’s the “beautiful Mount Airy…Casino Resort” part that sounds like the old jingle. The rest of the spots are all different. Thank God.
Thanks for posting … Thanks for posting this TV ad. This ad ran in the Pittsburgh market at that time. I remember not being able to get that Mt. Airy song out of my head. It played over and over in my head. It looked great on TV, but then I know how TV can be. Wow, not being able to get that tune out of my head may explain why I’m brain-dead now. Beautiful Mt. All you nimrods are … All you nimrods are talking out your a-hole. I worked there in the 80′s when it was a big honking hulk of a depressing dive. It was a mess. It was sold, razed and built back up into a very shnazzy casino/hotel/spa by (no- not a felon) a generous, classy, family to whom the area owes a debt of gratitude for for keeping the Poconos a destination for the area.
Asbury Pk is … Asbury Pk is practically owned by the fags/lesi’s. They invested heavily when property value turned to shit, cuz the town turned into shit. Mount Airy Lodge… … Mount Airy Lodge….I went there once or twice in the early ’80s. It was a really nice place, back when the Poconos was a whole ‘nother world for this city slicker (grew up in Queens, NY). Unfortunately the Poconos has turned into a dive and I’m sorry to hear about what happened to MAL. Does anyone remember Schmitt’s Mountain Resort in Marshalls Creek? I went there every summer from 1980-85.
I went there in … I went there in 1990 with my family for winter break in February when I was 6. I have great fun memories from it! I remember the game room,the pool,and when we went skiing. I had no idea that its now a casino.Its a shame! Ah well at least i have my memories.
