Actually she supposedly didn’t die. Sherilyn Fenn has confirmed that if they had been picked up for a third season, they would have revealed that she survived. Not to mention David Lynch actually planned to make a Twin Peaks spinoff, with Audrey Horne as the main character, taking place after the second season. This idea was later adapted into Mulholland Drive.
