It’s a yorkshire, 5 lbs. He’ll be in the cabin for sure. But I don’t know if I have to make a reservation for him. I bought the tickets online, so i couldn’t make a reservation on the website.

Dogs and animals are carried in the cargo hold in specially designed pet carriers. Most airlines do not allow animals in the cabin area.

yes yes yes
you absolutley have to make a reservation
and do not belive it is legal to have a dog in the main cabin
this rule may differ across airlines but i doubt it
animals travel in the hold safely in carry boxes .
if you are flying internaly in the states i think it may be aloud.
it would appear that i am very wrong on this after reading one of your answers linked to pages regarding this .

you do have to pay to bring your dog on board with you. i think it’s about $200 each way when i priced to fly with mine.
i would call the airline to double check. they also require specific pet carriers for pets on board too. you will probly need current vet records of shots and vaccines

There are airlines that dotn allow pets on board. The ones that do, they might ask you to cage him as he wouldnt be allowed to be placed with other passengers.
Otherwise, you may just be charged none the less.
Its best you ask your airline which ure gonna travel by
